We listen to a lot of music
Music is an important element in the ambience we want to create at Tings – that’s why we are very selective. We like all kinds of music if it’s original honest and has quality. And we listen to it privatly
But at Tings we do NOT play rock, we do NOT play Reggae, we do NOT play POP!
In other words: we do NOT play the kind of music you normally find in Thamel.
AND WE DO NOT WANT OUR GUESTS TO PLAY THEIR MUSIC AT TINGS – UNLESS THEY USE THEIR HEAD SET!!!
In stead we focus on the genres that are not so common in Nepal: Jazz, Electronica, Industrial, World etc
We get a lot of comments and questions regarding the music we plays.
We are very glad to answer and distribute links to the sites we like. But our time is limited and we find it harder and harder to get back to people with in a reasonable time.
So we have decided to post some of the music we listen to. Not everyday. Only when we are inspired…
Where do we get inspiration from?
Thomas has collected music since he bought his first three albums in 1973: Jimi Hendrix’ Electric Lady Land, Black Sabbath’s 1st and Kim Larsen’s Værsgo.
He still collects music – except that now a days most of the new stuff he listens to he gets from music communities such as SoundCloud and MixCloud and friend web-entrepreneur Ronnie Rocket’s NewMusicUnited.
We have been involved in a lot of music in various ways. If you’re interested you can read more here.
At the bottom of this blog you’ll find Tings SoundCloud Radio Station – in case you want to listen to ‘our’ music while reading this blog.
Love
Annette & Thomas
